Make sure to note that for 2024, Davis Pride Community Fair and Music Festival has moved to Davis Civic Center Park (6th and B Streets). Please see the event pages for our other activities locations.

What steps are the Davis Pride planning committee taking towards COVID-19 protections?

With the COVID-19 pandemic still active and growing in our world today, we will adhere to all federal, local, state, county, and venue guidelines with regards, vaccination requirements, regards to wearing masks, and/or physical distancing at the time of our event currently scheduled for June 2024.

How does the Davis Pride planning committee handle police and law enforcement at the pride event?

The planning committee has chosen not to actively ban any law enforcement agency from Davis Pride. At this time agencies do not participate outside of permit requirement guidelines, if we have political candidates or government officials, and/or if called to help protect attendees from threats.

The reason we have chosen not to ban law enforcement as that action would be in direct violation of the Davis Phoenix Coalition’s mission statement to build inclusive communities and their work to assist with building a better police relationship with the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.

What is security like at pride events?

Because of the nature of an LGBTQ+ event, we work with law enforcement agencies, community groups and a security team several months prior to June to ensure the safety of Davis Pride participants.

Is there a fee for Davis Pride events?

Skate w/Pride – Tickets, if any, for this event are by donation. We ask that you give what your heart desires.

Run/Walk for Equality – For the 1/5K walk prices range from $20-35.

Cost for special community hosted events may have their own fees associated with them at the control of the event host.

Why does Davis Pride not charge entry fees for the fair/festival?

The goal of the Davis Phoenix Coalition Board of Directors and the Davis Pride planning committee is to ensure that all members of the community, regardless of age and income level, have access to the celebration and resources that Davis Pride offers.

How does Davis Pride support the programs of DPC by producing a free event?

Funds collected through the Run/Walk for Equality, supporting events, vendor booth sales, sponsorships, donations, beer and wine garden sales, and VIP opportunities helps us pay the bills, from the stages, performers, port-a-potties, sound, security guards, police officers, and everything in between.

The pride committee is mindful to ensure that we provide a quality event on a strict budget to maximize our profits.  Those profits are used to create and sustain the education and advocacy programs of DPC throughout the year, as well as assist with the funding and development of a resource center, to support the LGBTQ+ and ally residents of the city of Davis and surrounding areas.

Are any members of DPC and/or Davis Pride paid?

At this time both the Davis Phoenix Coalition and Davis Pride planning committee are volunteers and no one receives any payment to perform their duties. As part of the operating business for the event(s) we do have some paid contractors that attend our meeting to provide updates and receive further direction.

Is there an age limit to attend Davis Pride?

No – all members of the community that want to contribute to the positive day are welcome.

I am almost 21 years of age, will I be able to purchase alcohol?

NO — we strictly enforce a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy on underage consumption of alcohol. Any guest under the age of 21 found consuming alcohol will immediately be evicted from the festival.

Guests will not be allowed to carry alcoholic beverages off the park grounds.

Are pets allowed at the event?

Yes – all pets are welcome.  We will have a pet zone for our furry and feather friends to enjoy the day.  City law does require that all dogs are on a leash at all times.

How do I get to the celebration and find parking once there?

Please visit our Directions and Parking (UPDATING) section for complete information.

How do I get an exhibitor space?

No matter what type of organization or business you have, you must fill out an application to purchase a booth to sell items at the festival.

Random solicitation during events will not be allowed in rented space unless approved by Davis Pride Director in writing. Solicitation is allowed on public spaces.

What type of organizations, vendors or sponsors do you accept?

The Davis Pride planning committee will accept all exhibitors and sponsors who do not have business practices that are in direct contradiction with our mission/vision or that of the Davis Phoenix Coalition (pride's producing agency).

I don’t have (or want) a booth. Can I hand out fliers, sign people up to support my cause, or sell merchandise?

No. Unless you have an exhibitor's space at Davis Pride, you cannot solicit or sell anything in any way on festival grounds. Protest or demonstration activities will be directed to the free-speech zone at the corner 3rd and C streets, open to anyone who is not selling a product. Violation of these rules will result in immediate eviction from Davis Pride by the Davis Pride planning committee and/or the City of Davis representatives. Sales of any merchandise outside of booths are prohibited.

All collected refuse will be sorted post collection to reduce our ecological footprint. To help us keep the event as green as possible, please DO NOT litter, and put all refuse in collection bins.

There are volunteer opportunities for people of almost all skills, backgrounds and abilities. Please visit the volunteer page to sign up to join an amazing team that help make pride work.

The History of pride

The flags are up, the shirts come off; banners, motorcycles, families, music, and pride march down the streets this June in celebration of their LGBT communities. How did these parades come to be? Why now? What was it like before?
